Autos have become
the largest part of people’s investment. Buying a car can be easy but keeping a
car in top condition may be difficult. People still have to pay a lot of money
in auto repairing and maintaining. Auto detailing supplies have taken off and a study showed that DIY auto repair becomes
very popular nowadays.
According to this
survey, nearly half of do-it-yourselfers report doing more auto repair work all
by themselves. This year than last year and two-thirds say they are more likely
to attempt a difficult job. This survey has covered nearly 3,000 consumers. The
findings show that DIY auto repairers are chiefly driven by cost-savings that one-third
report saving more than $1,000 per year. But also some people say that it is
the reason that the enjoyment of the actual work.
Besides, from this
survey, the percentage of those who say they do it themselves to save money
trended down slightly, while those who say they do it themselves because they enjoy
working on cars increased. There was a major increase in those reporting that
even though their financial situation has improved, they still will DIY over
going to the repair shop.
When asked why
they are doing more work this year than last year, 36 percent of respondents
answered that they want to make their vehicles for longer life. While saving
money was the main reason for 79 percent of respondents for doing any DIY auto care work on their vehicles. However, that has dropped about four percentage points from 2012.
The survey also noted
that about 74 percent of DIYers own used vehicles. They put lot of effort in
car detailing like car repair and choose automatic air freshener for car air refreshing. Successful car care can not only save
money but can also elongate car’s life.
